Isabel Villar, MSc Architectural Lighting Design, MSc Industrial Design, IALD
Isabel holds a Master's degree in architectural lighting design from the KTH, Stockholm and works as a lighting designer at White Arkitekter. With over ten years of experience, Isabel has designed the lighting for a wide range of national and international projects, including public buildings, offices, retail, hotels, museums, private residences and master plans. Many of them BREEAM, LEED and WELL certified. Isabel is a passionate lighting designer who is strongly committed to the development of the profession.
In 2014 Isabel won the Swedish Lighting Design Prize for Kungliga Biblioteket Annexet, a project where the planning of daylight and electric light were key to its success and a breakthrough in the profession of lighting design in Sweden. She's an IALD Professional member and IES Associate member. In 2018 Isabel was given international recognition receiving the 40under40 Lighting Designers Award.
Maha Shalaby, MSc in Energy-Efficiency in Buildings and Environmental Building Design, BA in Architectural Engineering.
Maha works as an architect and a sustainability specialist at White Arkitekter in Stockholm, Sweden. She has eight years of experience in practice, research and teaching. She studied her Masters’ in Energy-Efficiency from Lund university, Sweden and she currently works with various simulations including simple and advanced daylight studies.
Her passion lies in integrating her environmental design expertise with parametric tools and using the results from the assessments to inform the design resulting in a holistic way of working. Maha’s additional interests include visual comfort, circadian light assessment, assessing daylight quality in a space, and the perception of the space in virtual reality.
